GTT Communications will use Palo Alto Networks technology to power the company’s Secured Access Service Edge (SASE) platform. GTT said its new SASE platform, which will use Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access technology, will provide enterprise customers with a new set of security features in a single, cloud-delivered platform.
GTT added that the integrated networking and security functions provided by its SASE platform will give enterprise customers less complexity when it comes to connecting to GTT’s global network. In addition, the GTT SASE will enable businesses with employees that work offsite to adopt a zero-trust network access approach. That means that users will get access to the network based on their identity, device and application, rather than using an IP address or physical location.
“Customers are seeking highly secure and flexible global network solutions to adapt to the rapidly changing business environment, new workforce models and ever-expanding security threat landscape,” said Don MacNeil, GTT COO.

SASE offerings are gaining a lot of momentum in the industry. Service providers see the technology as a way to fuel additional revenue and help enterprises respond to the needs of remote and hybrid workers. Gartner estimates that at least 60% of enterprises will have strategies and timelines for adopting SASE by 2025, which is an increase from 10% of enterprises in 2020.
