Hello, hello Silverliners and Happy Friday. Are your Spidey-Senses tingling? Ours are. While I’m sure you’re eager to shut your laptop and enjoy the weekend — don’t pack up just yet. We hit pause on our web-slinging through Manhattan to induct a few featured techies into our own Silverlinings’ Spider-Society. Meet them below in this week’s edition of Cloud Career Moves - the Spider-Verse edition.
Holly Shea Cappello, SVP of Global Sales, Cado Security
Cado Security, a cloud forensics and incident response platform, announced Holly Shea Cappello as its new Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Sales. In her new role, Holly will oversee Cado Security's global sales, customer experience, and strategic partnership efforts. Holly has the Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack on loop in her cubicle. No HR complaints yet.
Samuel Wilson, CEO, 8x8
Samuel Wilson has been named CEO of 8x8, a cloud communications platform provider. Samuel previously served as 8x8’s CFO among multiple other leadership positions within the company. Forget web-slinging through Manhattan, Samuel opted to sit in the front row at the movie’s premiere instead. Safe choice, Samuel.
Megan Barbier, Chief HR Officer, Boomi
Boomi, a cloud-based integration platform as a service (iPaaS) company, announced Megan Barbier as chief human resources officer. Megan will lead value creation through building and executing Boomi’s global human capital strategy in her new role. Rumor has it Megan runs a top TikTok Spider-man fan page. Oh, and all the twenty-something actors who have played Spider-man are loyal followers – even Nicholas Cage.
José María Álvarez-Pallete, Chairman of the Board of Directors, VMO2
José María Álvarez-Pallete will take over as chairman of the board of directors of VMO2, following the joint venture resulting from the merger between Virgin Media (Liberty Global) and O2 (Telefónica). He additionally is the chairman and CEO of Telefónica. José is a long-time follower of the Spider-Man franchise – and owns one of the largest collections of Spider-Man comics, even Amazing Fantasy #15. He’s set for life.
David Daeschler, EVP of Data Science and AI; Chris Kucharski, Chief Product and Techinical Officer, OneRail
David Daeschler has been promoted to executive vice president of data science and artificial intelligence (AI) at OneRail, an omnichannel fulfillment solution company. David currently serves as OneRail’s chief technology officer (CTO).
Chris Kucharski will join OneRail as its new chief product and technical officer (CPTO). Chris will be responsible for leading OneRail’s technology and product management teams, including development, cloud and security. When these two aren’t in the office, you can find them 3D-printing super web-shooters – that’s what all the empty Silly String bottles laying around the office were for.
