Greetings Silverliners! It was all hustle and bustle this week at Mobile World Congress, but we managed to flag down some top drivers to feature in our taxi edition of career moves. Hop in before we hit the fast lane — or you’ll be stuck booking it to the train.
Steve Hager, CISO, Google

Major General Steve Hager will join Google Cloud’s security team as its first public sector chief information security officer (CISO). Under the new role, Hager will oversee security, compliance and risk on Google's public sector related products and infrastructure. In the taxi driver community, Hager is well-known for playing his rock-and-roll mixtapes — for willing and unwilling ears.
Ryan Vestby, CEO, VC3

IT and cybersecurity provider VC3 announced Ryan Vestby as CEO. Vestby has been working alongside former CEO Sandy Reeser to extend VC3’s IT expertise since last year and will continue to leverage technology and automation. Vestby prefers taking the shortcuts and alleys when his driver's cap is on, so if you were hoping for the scenic route, he could be the right guy for the job.
Matt Ramsay, CEO and Executive Director, Gearlinx

Gearlinx, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud-first company, announced that Matt Ramsay will join as CEO and executive director. Ramsay previously held leadership roles including ones at McAfee and Intel. Ramsay prides himself in mastering the “in-depth knowledge of traffic regulation” skill on LinkedIn. 😉
Joe Tyrrell, CEO, Medallia

Medallia has named Joe Tyrrell as CEO. His hiring will landscape the enterprise experience platform’s commitment to customer and employee experience. When not behind the wheel, Tyrrell is likely CEO of his weekly taxi club meetings where he advocates for drivers’ free Starbucks.
Julien Moutte, CTO, Bentley Systems

Infrastructure engineering software company Bentley Systems has promoted current vice president of technology Julien Moutte to CTO. Moutte joined Bentley Systems in 2021 to lead its SAP Marketing Cloud. Moutte drives his passengers via classic yellow cab because unfortunately, Bentleys can’t be written off as a business expense.
*Ed. Note: Midjourney, an AI art tool, manipulates original headshots so they kind-of-sort-of-maybe look the like real person but in many cases, not really at all.
