Efficient FTTH Deployment & Grant Funding Strategies

Craig Culwell is Director, Market Development for the Broadband business at CommScope, responsible for marketing development focused on the Service Provider market of North America. The marketed solutions include fiber cable and connectivity for Outside Plant for FTTx/ODN, passive WDM, and Macro/Small Cell-sites for 5G. With a focus on bridging the digital divide he has guided the development of programs from those which aid service providers in navigating the funding landscape and choosing the right grant program, to tools that provide guidance in choosing the best architecture for FTTH deployments.
 
Culwell’s strategic mind leverages an understanding of customer needs in those vertical markets and driving change in cross-functional product management, engineering, and field application engineering teams to develop innovative application focused practical network infrastructure solutions to address customer challenges now and into the future.

Before his 24 years at CommScope, Culwell spent time at AT&T as a network service operations manager responsible for all aspects of delivery and maintenance of high-speed data services to business customers.
 
Culwell holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from California Polytechnic State University, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is based in Sacramento.

Joseph Phelan is a Grants Development Consultant at Grants Office, LLC working in the State and Local Governments vertical. He supports various government and community-based organizations. Joe focuses on helping these entities find and apply for technology-friendly funding for broadband, smart city, transportation, and utility projects.
