Steve Saunders:

Mr. Shi, what's new at Huawei?

David Shi:

This year, Huawei joined GITEX with the theme of accelerating digital and intelligence in the industries. So, to customers, Huawei always keeps deeply engaged with our customers across different industries to understand their business requirements and technology requirements. Based on that, Huawei always keeps innovating our solution to fulfill our customer's business demands. To our partners, Huawei also try our best to engage very deeply with all our partners across different industries.

At the same time, we believe the talent ecosystem is very key to promoting sustainable developments. We bring a lot of new solutions with the theme of accelerating industrial digitalization and intelligence, and we also showcase the partner and the ecosystem, intelligent campus, intelligent data center, and the Huawei Cloud. We also released solutions for industrial intelligence and flagship products and portfolios for data center scenarios.

Steve Saunders:

So, how's the rapid advancement of AI affecting your business?

David Shi:

Ongoing advancements in AI are driving more in-depth intelligent transformation across industries, laying the groundwork for All Intelligence. Future intelligent enterprises will have six distinct features that can call the six A's. The first A is adaptive user experience, the second is auto-evolving products, the third is autonomous operations, and then is augmented workforce, the next is all-connected resources, and the last one is AI-native infrastructure. Huawei has years of experience with its own intelligent transformation. Over the past six years, we have steadily pressed ahead with the strategic AI development culminated in our All Intelligence strategy.

Steve Saunders:

Can you give me some examples of how that's happening?

David Shi:

We believe the ICT infrastructure always will be the foundation for accelerating the digital and intelligent transformation. So, to have a good ICT infrastructure is very important for that purpose. But if you look at the current situation across different industries, we can see the leaders and the laggards in each industry they have big gap, which means some of the users, companies, or government agencies, they utilize the technology very well and they become the leaders in the industry. But at the same time, there are more quantity of users. They are behind very, far.

So how to overcome the gap? We believe the first target we have to do is to accelerate popularization. We need to let everyone can be benefit from the innovation of technologies. Then it's the acceleration of monetization. To accelerate the monetization, we have to understand the business value of customers in each industry. We have to understand the technology well and then translate the technology capabilities to business values. So, after we link the technology capabilities to business values, then we believe we can do a good job to accelerate the monetization.

Steve Saunders:

Huawei has been talking about simplifying ICT structure, how does that play out in practice for your customers?

David Shi:

We have to have a good technology at first. Secondly, we need to understand the business value, then thirdly, we have to translate the technology ability to business value. Let's take the campus as the example. Campus serves as the hub for digital and intelligent transformation of the process. Because 90% of innovations come from campuses and 90% of the people's life stay in the campuses. The traditional campuses typically suffer from three challenges, poor experience, low efficiency, and a complex OEM. So, to help them to address these challenges Huawei has built a digital foundation with the cloud network edge device integration. Huawei's intelligent campus solution enables customers to build and manage campus more efficiently as well as enjoy a more convenient experience.

Steve Saunders:

Industrial digitalization is happening across many industries. What's the most exciting example that you've seen?

David Shi:

Now we are entering the fourth revolution in the industries. The third revolution focusing most on the information to digitalize something, but nowadays we have to enter the intelligent revolution. For example, for the mining, the OT system were just for mines and the resources on ground or inside the mountain. Okay. But at the same time, you need to concede to use intelligent technologies to improve the capability and the efficiency of the machines. Also, you need to manage the machines together. So to manage them, you have to connect with them. The platform has become more important.

Steve Saunders:

Absolutely.

David Shi:

If you don't have a strong platform with standard API, you cannot encourage more talent, more developers to come to develop on top of your platform.

Steve Saunders:

You're actually benefiting global society by making these improvements. It's very impressive. Thank you, Mr. Shi.

David Shi:

Thank you.
