Managing the mass migration to cloud with Arelion

Mattias Fridström is a networks enthusiast who has witnessed first-hand the remarkable strides made over the past three decades.

Joining Arelion (then Telia) in 1996, he has held a number of senior roles within the organization, including a stint as CTO.

Today, in his role as Chief Evangelist, Mattias helps the company to answer some of the sector’s most crucial questions… What are the challenges of tomorrow for network providers? How can the likes of Arelion meet the ever-increasing traffic demand and customer quality expectations within the same cost frame?

In this discussion, Mattias dives into how the company continues to work with network providers, charting the rise in demand for cloud migrations and cloud-based services and how this has propelled business.

“More traffic is always good for a carrier like us,” he tells us. “Companies are now more aware of where they store data, how to store their data, and what type of traffic that needs to be in the cloud and what shouldn't be in the cloud. I think they more and more understand that it's better to talk to their operators to see what they can do for them.”

Towards the end of the discussion, Mattias also hints at what might be in the pipeline for 2024, including the continuation of promising growth in key markets such as Mexico and South America.
