Nokia’s Strategy on AI, Data Centers, and Quantum Computing

Manish Gulyani, VP & Head of Marketing for Network Infrastructure at Nokia, shared his insights into the company’s pivotal role in the rapidly evolving AI and data center industries. According to Gulyani, AI’s demand for massive compute power is driving Nokia’s strategic focus on data center networking. As hyperscalers build large data centers globally, Nokia’s role becomes crucial in providing seamless connectivity across these infrastructures. The company’s recent acquisition of Infinera highlights their commitment to strengthening their optical business and improving data center interconnect capabilities.

Looking toward the future, Gulyani explored the growing importance of Industry 4.0 and IoT in transforming vertical industries. While some latency-sensitive applications need to be deployed closer to the edge of the network, others can remain in centralized data centers. He also addressed the emerging topic of quantum computing, where Nokia is preparing for the quantum era with quantum-safe networking capabilities. Despite the uncertainty around quantum’s mainstream arrival, Nokia’s proactive approach aims to secure data in an increasingly quantum-influenced world.
