In order to better connect enterprise customers with their remote workers, Comcast Business has added Cisco Meraki into its Teleworker VPN portfolio.
With the security perimeter extending beyond office spaces due to Covid-19, companies large and small have ramped up their remote work offerings. Comcast Business' Teleworker VPN offers a centrally managed remote access VPN solution to give employees the same access to their corporate networks as when they are in their office spaces.
When combined with Comcast Business' Teleworker Broadband offering, it provides remote employees with secure, reliable connections to their business systems, applications and files. Teleworker VPN runs over a separate, dedicated connection, which means it doesn't interfere with residential broadband services in users' homes.
“The global pandemic has fast-tracked secure, remote workforce connectivity to the top of the priority list for today’s enterprise IT decision makers,” said Comcast Business' Amit Verma, vice president solution engineering and technology, in a statement. ”When combined with our Teleworker Broadband solution, the Comcast Business Teleworker VPN solution with Cisco Meraki allows enterprises to gain peace of mind while providing their employees with a secure, independent Internet connection that does not interfere or compete with their at-home Internet – freeing up home bandwidth for remote learning, entertainment and more.”

The secure gateway service centers work with all-in-one devices that provide cloud security and wireless and wired connectivity options at home locations, all of which is centrally managed on the Cisco Meraki cloud platform.
With all of those components in place, enterprises can securely connect home-based devices, including laptops, desktops, VoIP phones, printers and more to the corporate network.
Comcast Business said the Teleworker VPN service eased the burden on companies' IT teams by employing centralized cloud management. Using optimization, it also finds and dynamically fixes network issues. It also offers IT teams 24/7 support.
