Speaking at a UBS investor conference in New York City Embarq CEO Dan Hesse said his company isn't planning to make a "huge" capital investment in fiber to support a broadband upgrade and TV services. Embarq already has said it plans to offer TV services over its own network, so does that mean it will use some variation of DSL, or a not-so-huge investment in fiber? And will Hesse himself be around to find out? As the search for a new Sprint CEO heats up, many are seeing Hesse, a former AT&T Wireless exec, as a leading candidate for the job.
