Juniper Networks announced it has selected Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to beef up its product assurance process with artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.
Juniper is using TCS' AI-based Smart QE platform across its hardware and software security products. The TCS platform leverages contextual insights and predictive analytics to improve the quality and predictability of a product release.
TCS said its platform could automate root-cause analysis while providing continuous feedback to the various stakeholders based on data analytics.
The TCS platform will further Juniper Networks' adoption of DevOps approaches by implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD.) Using CI/CD principles enables benefits such as faster time to market, continued product innovation, and improved decision making across the board.
With the continued proliferation of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes and microservices, continuous delivery and continuous integration (CI/CD) have become key tools for service providers and vendors. In March, The Linux Foundation launched the Continuous Delivery Foundation (CDF) to collaborate on the delivery of software tools.
A CI/CD framework is also being used by LF Networking's OPNFV to enable common network virtualization functions infrastructure (NFVi) for the testing of virtual network functions (VNFs.)
RELATED: IBM signs a $325M contract to help Juniper transition to cloud-native
Juniper Networks is working to update its internal processes to keep pace with the industry. In January, Juniper Networks announced it had signed a seven-year, $325 million agreement with IBM to better manage its IT services and give it a quicker on-ramp to a cloud-native architecture.
While software was a bright spot in Juniper's first quarter earnings report last month, its router, security and switch revenues were down sequentially and year over year.
