As this week’s Open Network Summit wraps, The Linux Foundation adds 35 new Silver members and three associate members to its growing rank.
Besides joining the Foundation, several of the new members have joined Linux Foundation projects like Automotive Grade Linux, Cloud Native Computing Foundation, EdgeX Foundry, Hyperledger, LF Networking and other projects.
Linux Foundation Silver members are organizations that contribute to or otherwise support open-source communities and projects.

“It is exciting to welcome so many wonderful organizations from across technology, finance, education, transportation, communications and other important industries into The Linux Foundation,” said Jim Zemlin, executive director for The Linux Foundation, in a release.
Some of the members include Bank of America, Ribbon Communications and Twilio, among others.
Associate members of The Linux Foundation include government agencies and not-for-profit organizations that The Linux Foundation said have demonstrated a commitment to building, sustaining and using open-source technologies.
The three Linux Foundation Associate members include the Institute for Information Industry, Peking University and the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab.
Being able to attract a greater mass of members means that The Linux Foundation can drive greater collaboration and scale for new open-source projects across technologies including networking, security, cloud and blockchain.
Within the Linux Foundation, the organization’s new LF Networking Fund (LFN), a new entity that increases collaboration and operational excellence across networking projects, also had a big week. LFN now reaches over 100 members.
