LOGIX Communications, a fiber-centric provider targeting Texas’ mid-enterprise market, is now offering a Hosted PBX service that it says can enhance communications while reducing up-front costs and adding flexibility.
Like other providers, LOGIX is looking to help business customers transition from big iron premises-based PBX systems that are often limited in growth to a more flexible cloud-based architecture. The cloud-based systems aren't as susceptible to the complex upgrade cycles plaguing the legacy systems.
Customers in LOGIX’s territory will be able to get 90 advanced-calling functions from the provider’s cloud-based platform.

Incorporating built-in disaster recovery and business continuity services, the new Hosted PBX service is highly flexible so it can scale to match customers’ business growth, while letting customers avoid capital expenditures required by conventional phone systems. The disaster recovery feature can inbound calls to the customer’s location automatically and seamlessly re-routed to a pre-determined number.
Other features include single-number calling that results in users never missing a contact because callers can reach them via desk phone, mobile phone or computer with a single number.
Having recently purchased fellow competitive provider Alpheus Communications, LOGIX now has an even larger network and customer base it can leverage to deliver the new Hosted PBX product.
The service provider currently serves more than 1,400 commercial buildings and 75 data centers, and has over 1,000 fiber route miles in Texas.
