Neutral Path Communications, a Midwest regional fiber provider, is acquiring Infinity Fiber, deepening its fiber footprint in Indianapolis and Chicago.
Upon completing this acquisition, Neutral Path’s Infinity fiber network runs from Indianapolis to South Bend, before connecting to Chicago. In South Bend, the network provides connectivity through Global Access Point’s Union Station Technology Center, which offers access to other service providers and business tenants.
The service provider said the Union Station operational team, service stack and location—next to a large fiber corridor along the railroad—has helped it grow to one of the largest in the region and become a top 40 carrier hotel nationally.

By completing this expansion to the East, Neutral Path will be able to extend the reach of its carrier neutral network from Denver to Omaha to Minneapolis and now Chicago, South Bend and Indianapolis, including several key markets along the route.
The Infinity acquisition continues the rapid expansion of Neutral Path, which recently extended its main line south from the NDC data center at 1623 Farnam in Omaha to Kansas City, Missouri, at Netrality Properties’ 1102 Grand facility, and from the 511 11th Ave. building in Minneapolis to 350 Cermak in Chicago.
From an overall fiber perspective, this acquisition increases Neutral Path’s fiber route by over 300 miles, bringing its total to over 2,300 route miles and 150,000 fiber miles across eight states.
The company said it expects the acquisition to close this quarter, subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of necessary federal and state regulatory approvals.
Acquiring Infinity is just one of several activities Neutral Path has taken to enhance its network reach. In August, the service provider began offering lit services to Kansas City, Missouri, and to Chicago’s desirable Cermak data center location.
