Windstream is shaking up its leadership with two new appointments in its Wholesale and Enterprise business units.
Joe Scattareggia has been named president of Windstream Wholesale, and Mike Flannery has been named president of Windstream Enterprise, after both previously served as the chief revenue officers of their respective units.
They succeed former Windstream Wholesale and Enterprise President Buddy Bayer who will leave the company at the end of the year.
In an announcement Windstream CEO Paul Sunu said Flannery and Scattareggia are both “keenly focused on meeting [its] customers’ needs in a rapidly changing marketplace.”
The two execs will be responsible for all sales, marketing, service delivery and customer care. Scattareggia, who joined Windstream in 2013, will also have responsibility for field operations in his unit.
Scattareggia said he will collaborate closely with Sunu and Windstream’s senior leadership team to “further propel the growth of Windstream Wholesale,” especially through its “fast and flexible” customer experience mantra.
Flannery, who joined the company in 2017, will continue to oversee the Windstream Enterprise Channel Program, a role he said “aligns well” with his background in customer-centric organizations.
“I am confident in the organization’s ability to adapt and drive the necessary changes required within our business and industry,” said Flannery. “We will move forward focused upon utilizing a customer-centric mindset, led by a people-first approach that guides and enables us to deliver on our commitments to customers, partners, employees and stakeholders.”
Windstream Enterprise and Windstream Wholesale are two divisions of Windstream Holdings, with the former primarily targeting business customers . Windstream Enterprise provides network services to enterprises including SD-WAN, multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and cloud connect.
Windstream Wholesale, on the other hand, is geared towards providing network and communication services to other carriers, service providers, and large-scale businesses. That includes dark fiber, wavelength services, Ethernet services and other infrastructure solutions.
As a whole, Windstream has been focused on driving customer experience. The company appointed Sunu president and chief executive officer just last month, tasked with “enhanc[ing] the effectiveness” of the company’s strategy and improving customer service.
“I look forward to working with them to serve our customers with excellence as we continue to expand our fiber network," said Sunu at the time of his appointment.
Also last month, Windstream’s Kinetic Wholesale division ditched its aging order platform for a new solution it built in partnership with Connectbase and Neustar. Company executives told Fierce Telecom that the system will dramatically simplify the wholesale broadband ordering and product management process for both customers and employees.
