BARCELONA, Spain—Announced early last year, Facebook launched its Telecom Infra Project (TIP) as a way for players to "develop new technologies and rethink approaches to deploying network architecture." And Facebook's Jay Parikh attended the recent Mobile World Congress trade show to continue pushing TIP’s agenda forward.
In his executive interview with FierceWireless, Parikh discussed wireless carriers’ responses to TIP, as well as whether cable operators have expressed interest in the projects under development in TIP.
Indeed, U.S. cable operators including Comcast and Charter Communications have expressed a renewed interest in wireless technologies in recent months.
