Mo Katibeh is returning to his wireless roots as the chief marketing officer of T-Mobile Business Group where he will head up that group’s marketing efforts. He will report to T-Mobile CMO Mike Katz and will be based in Bellevue, Wash.
T-Mobile and its peers AT&T and Verizon have become increasingly focused on boosting their enterprise divisions so they can take advantage of emerging trends such as 5G enterprise networking and private wireless.
For example, T-Mobile last November revealed that it was working with the PGA of America to provide 5G connectivity at the PGA’s coaching center and headquarters in Frisco, Texas.
In addition, the mobile operator is building a 5G hybrid network for Boston Children’s Hospital that will provide simultaneous 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity covering the 2.9 million square feet campus.
If Katibeh’s name sounds familiar that’s probably because he spent more than 20 years at AT&T where he held a variety of positions including EVP chief product and platform officer at AT&T Business where he oversaw product marketing and handled go-to-market sales for digital, wholesale and indirect channels.
He also served as head of AT&T Network infrastructure and build where he oversaw the company’s aggressive expansion of its fiber network and its nationwide 5G deployment.
However, Katibeh left AT&T in early 2022 to join RingCentral where he served as COO until August 2023. At the time, Katibeh was touted for his knowledge of RingCentral because AT&T was one of the company’s first major go-to-market partners.
