- Despite rumors, MWC is set to stay in Barcelona for quite a few years
- The city is building a new hall at the Fira to handle more visitors
- Companies have already started putting their deposits down for 2026
MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS, BARCELONA – Despite rumors during the show, Mobile World Congress is due to return to Barcelona in 2026.
A move certainly would be surprising since the GSMA and the city of Barcelona jointly announced in 2022 that the show will stay in Barcelona through to 2030, establishing itself in the Catalan capital.
Indeed, the city is building a new hall alongside the eight already standing at the Fira.
"It's going to be imaginatively called Hall Zero," one jokester told us.
Strong showing
With certain halls being jam-packed right until the end of this week's show on Thursday afternoon, the GSMA claimed to attract 110,000 visitors to the show this year.
No word yet on whether the new hall will be policed by robot dogs.

Certain companies have already put down their deposits for 2026. Doubtless, Fierce editors, reporters and our new FNTV arm will be there in force too.
See you there!
